Gold Skirt Styled 3 Ways

When I saw this gold skirt during my latest Target try-on session, I instantly fell in love. But I wasn’t sure how I would style it outside the fancy, holiday look. Since it’s velvet and midi length, it can be tricky to dress down and style it more casually. Here are 3 ways to style this velvet, gold skirt – fancy, casual, and both!

(Make sure and scroll to the bottom for a good laugh…)

For the 1st look, I wore a tied flannel and red heels. To finish the look, I wore a pair of simple studs, gold watch, and delicate gold choker. This look would be great for a holiday party, church, or a date night to dinner and The Nutcracker!

For the 2nd look, I grabbed my favorite oversized sweater (found from the men’s section at Goodwill) and tucked the front for a more casual look. To keep the outfit from looking to frumpy, I wore the same red heels.

Midi length skirts can cut the length of your legs and to keep your legs looking long, opt for a heel. Any height will do the trick! These heels are surprisingly comfortable and not too high.

For the last look, I went super casual and a little edgier. I wore a knotted tee (any tee will do, but I love the look of a band tee too!) and this black {vegan} leather (a cooler way to say fake leather 🙃) black jacket. To keep it even more casual, I threw on my white chucks. For a more put together casual look, you could easily pair this outfit with these red flats or the leopard ones! Those would be super cute too!

Either shoe you choose, I’d finish the outfit with some fun statement earrings. I love this mustard gold fringe earrings from this Etsy shop. She has a ton of other cute jewelry options too!

I have a somewhat fancy metallic skirt and I only wear it like the third style you showed. I should try it with a big comfy sweater!

I love all three ways that you styled the skirt, but I think the first look is my favorite! The red heels really pull it together and make it so festive too!
