Date Night Dinner at Line & Lure

Last month, Chris and I were invited to Line & Lure Seafood Kitchen & Tap for a fun date night dinner. Line & Lure is located in the new casino ilani in Ridgefield, WA. Being a less than an hour drive, this was a perfect Friday date night dinner outside of Portland.

Not only is the casino one of the nicest I’ve been in, but the restaurant was beautiful as well. The back was lined with floor-to-ceiling windows, looking out on the cool patio area. The patio has a huge fire pit area surrounded by Adirondack chairs, with an area of tables and chairs and all the pretty lights you could ever dream of in your own backyard heaven.

This patio would be perfect on a warm, summer night. We have already decided we are coming back once it warms back up – I can’t wait!

After I ordered a spicy cucumber margarita, and since it wasn’t raining (how lucky we’ve been here in the PNW this fall), we decided to go out and enjoy the fire pit while we waited on our apps.

Speaking of apps, we ordered the jumbo lump crab guacamole and oh my heaven! I am the chips and dip queen and pretty critical, but this guacamole was delicious. And with the lump crap on top (and throughout), it was over the top – and I’m here for it. Next time, we’re definitely trying the seared ahi tuna and the lobster corn doggies 😍

For dinner, we ordered all the seafood. Chris got the halibut fish & tots, sweet potato tots at that. Yes, I said sweet potato tots. And I ordered the crab-crusted pacific cod with fingerling potatoes. The cod was fresh and flaky, and those fingerling potatoes were crispy on the outside and buttery, melt-in-your-mouth smooth on the inside. (I’m also the potato queen. I’m the queen of a lot of things 😉)

When our wonderful waitress came back to ask about dessert, we were on the fence. I rarely order desserts and we were so full from our delicious dinner. But when she brought out the dessert tray, we couldn’t say no.

I got the lemon soufflé cake, and Chris got the season pumpkin cheesecake. The lemon soufflé cake was light and fluffy, with just the right amount of lemon. As the menu describes it, it’s magic! The pumpkin cheesecake came out in an adorable jar and was so creamy. It tasted just like fall, which we both love.

After we finished our desserts, we decided to extend our fun little date night dinner and continued it in the bar area. I ordered a glass of this red blend, made especially for the ilani Casino Resort.

There are high-top tables, stools at the bar, and fun conversation areas with couches and chairs – a seat for everyone!

They also have TVs (for those football games), and they had live music the night we went so if you like live music, you should check their events and catch one of those nights – so fun!

We can’t wait to go back and try some of the other items on their menu. And enjoy that patio in the summer months! They also have a brunch buffet on Saturdays and Sundays, which we will have to check out soon!

Also, I’d like to add that the service was amazing. They catered to and paid very close attention to Chris’s shellfish allergy and always made sure we were happy with our food and drink. Service can make or break a restaurant, and it sometimes determines if we go back to place or not. And Line & Lure get 5 stars from us for the service, food, and atmosphere!

If you’re looking for a place just outside of Portland (and want to break away from the Portland waiting times), then definitely take the short drive north to ilani and check out Line & Lure!

I was invited by Line & Lure to come and enjoy a complimentary dinner for 2 in exchange for a post. All reviews and opinions are my own.

The outdoor patio looks gorgeous! This is not what I have in my head as a casino restaurant, haha. Looks like you had a terrific dinner.

Ilani really is a stunning casino! I’ve been meaning to make it to Line & Lure for some time now. The food you ordered looks so amazing! I love that they make their own wine too!
